Facebook marketing can either be a boon for your business or a black hole.  Many dive into social media marketing with little direction and end up spinning their wheels with hours of wasted effort and little to show for it.  Facebook is incredibly important to online success and customer engagement, and they’ve recently launched a new feature that can drive tons of leads to your business if used correctly.  We’re talking about the Facebook Call to Action (CTA) buttons for your Page, and these are dynamite.

What are they?

The Call to Action button is a feature that is offered to Page owners, not on your personal profile, which will allow you to put something in the forefront and spur action from your visitors.  These buttons can link to any destination on or off of Facebook, and this is a huge change as Facebook never used to allow this except through paid ads.  Here are your options with the buttons on your Page:

  • Contact Us
  • Shop Now
  • Book Now
  • Use App
  • Play Game
  • Watch Video

There are also CTA buttons that you can add to an individual Post, and these can be linked off-site as well.  These buttons include:

  • Shop Now
  • Learn More
  • Book Now
  • Download

Best Use of Call To Action Buttons

As you think about how you’re going to apply this magic to your social media marketing, you’ll want to keep several things in mind.  This button is taking up valuable real estate on your Facebook Page so be sure to pick the right one.  Unless you have a very compelling video that is going to entice customers to sign up for your services, this may not be your number one choice.  Also, don’t add several call to action buttons across the top of your page.  Some may have competing messages, and it becomes unclear what action you want your visitors to take.  Instead, have one clear and concise call to action that aligns with the rest of your Facebook Page’s message.

Track Your CTA Progress

As with anything on the web, set it up and then track it for success.   Your clicks can be tracked via Facebook Insights.  To do this, simply hover over your button and then “See Insights”.  Try different buttons and determine which one drives the most and the best-converting traffic to your website.

Including a Call to Action button on your Facebook Page is a great way to generate additional traffic to your company’s website.  However, it’s important that you use the right one and test your progress as you go.   If you have questions about CTA buttons or need help setting them up, be sure to check out UpAndSocial.com for more information.
