The Story

Most recently, Up And Social did a website revamp for www.puertoricoriseup.org. The goal for this website was to provide a clear call-to-action, get more leads, and provide a better translation service for viewers from different countries.  Much like the overall message of their brand, Puerto Rico Rise Up needed to convey a strong, powerful message of generosity and community support to visitors coming to their website.

The new website presents a dynamic, bold theme that not only enhances principles of giving but does more heavy lifting when it comes to attracting leads and catering to the individual needs of each visitor.

The Challenge

The old website, while delivering the right information, lacked a friendly user experience. Technical issues with a translation made it hard for Spanish-speaking visitors to read the site in their native language. Also, there weren’t any automatic lead generation measures in place to properly capture visitor data points. To top it all off, there was no clear call-to-action. We had quite the task on our hands to address these challenges in a cohesive manner.

As web designers, our job is multi-fold and displaying content is just one aspect. We have to figure out a way to convey a clear message while offering a user-friendly experience and managing to attract leads without looking to pushy. This was our challenge with the Puerto Rico Rise up website.

Non-profit Web Design Solution

We chose to stick with bright, bold colors similar to those found on the Puerto Rico national flag. It’s classic, visitors will resonate with it, and it conveys a message of hope and recovery for a nation.

The new site features lead capture on the front page. We used bold pictures and images of the community in action that further enhance the idea of philanthropy and making a positive impact on growth and achievement.

Content on the site provides clear messaging about the program and why visitors should join the action.

The navigation menu at the top of the site allows for browsing at the viewer’s pace, while still being prominent to help guide the viewer where he/she wants to go. And finally, the entire site is mobile responsive.
